Important Dates in CPS History Comments

September 2009 Several Furlough Exchange Programs went into effect to allow faculty who met certain conditions to "exchange" furlough reductions for hours spent doing research or other work funded by extramural, gift, or clinical funds.  The program was retroactive to July 2009 and ended at the end of June 2010. "Furlough exchange" distributions with DOS codes FEP, CEP, or GEP are set up to represent non-general funded earnings, hours, and FTE.  The general-funded FTE, earnings, and hours are supposed to be reduced by the amount of the Furlough Exchange FTE, earnings, and hours.
September 2009 Mandatory furlough/salary reduction program takes effect systemwide. Reduction distributions with DOS code SRB are set up to represent reduced earnings, hours, and FTE.  Employees still receive UCRP service credit and HAPC based on unreduced salary.
June 2009  Campuses begin submitting earnings files which includes leave hours used. DOS code "LV" indicates a record which includes vacation, sick, and other leave hours accrued or used.  If DOS code "LV" is not excluded from queries, the hours and FTE must be subtracted from the total to accurately represent hours worked.
